Update

Reed had his Hernia surgery on the 15th. It went very well. We were told to bring him in his PJ's and he could bring a favorite toy. So we went with the Monkey PJ's and of course...Teddy. Teddy was a Christmas present from Nanna and Pops and he goes almost everywhere with Reed. He sleeps with Reed and even sneaks in mommy and daddy's bed every night with Reed.

So, in the pre-op room he was asked to change into hospital gown/pj's...well he threw a fit and cried, so I cried but just a little, I didn't want him to think anything was wrong with mommy. We finally get him calmed down and then suddenly the room fills with blue people. Surgeons, Nurses, Anesthesiologists and students.

I don't know why but I was under the impression that I would be with Reed through the anesthesia then I would have to leave. But I was wrong. So the nice female anesthesiologist let us walk with her to the elevator, she took Reed from me and encouraged him to push the door buttons and the elevator buttons, we rode up with him then we had to stay behind while he went ahead without us. Without his mommy and daddy but hand in paw with TEDDY!

I cried and cried...(it was unfair that Teddy got to go and I didn't) I finally pulled myself together and the surgery was over in like 30 minutes. He recovered wonderfully demanding juice and a "nack" from the nice nurse afterwards. Teddy also came out with an IV, ID bracelet, hat, mask, booties and a band aid over his hernia area! He was so cute but Reed didn't like it, so we had to remove all the cuteness for the car ride home.

After a few days of taking it easy (and getting everything his way!) he's back to his normal self (just a little more cautious until the stitches dissolve)

So thank you to everyone that prayed for us. God really was there with us that day. I didn't lose it nearly as bad as I would have if I didn't have God with me. Reed told me all about what they did (until he just "woke up") and he didn't cry for mommy one time I was told.

He is such a brave little man.
