Snow Fun

This year here in Kentucky...we have had our fair share of snow. We've missed like 12 days of school now. Un REAL!

I like to look at the snow only around Christmas. Then I want it to go away. When you have a husband that doesn't shovel the sidewalk or porch (ok, he's done it once and I about had a heart attack when I saw it) the kids track all that snow in the house, you have to wear extra clothes, scarves, hats and gloves so they end up on the floor. Because when you live with 3 MALES that is the most logical place to store them right?

Well we ended up having a big snow this past weekend and even though it was FREEZING out I called up The Wagoner's and the Lloyd's (friends of mine) and we went sleigh riding down the embankment of my parents' non existent pond.

Reed all bundled up like the kid from the Christmas Story was quiet but loved it. He went down the hill with Me, Reagan and Avery. Kai and Reed ended up going inside early but I had a blast going down that hill. The kids all took turns having my Dad and Eric sling shot them down the embankment.

That's me, Shannon, Tessa, Reagan, Avery, Caleb and their dog Maddie at the top of the hill. That was the other funny part...the dogs. Tessa had this bright idea for us both to bring our dogs. Well her dog is a pup mine is about 6 months old but he's a down right idiot.  Maddie did great. She of course ran around like crazy but both my dogs, Mowgli & Smooch (both of the male gender) chased her around like the horn dogs they are. We had to call them off of her several times.

We tied Smooch up several times but kept feeling bad for him, so Eric decided to let him go to give him one last chance. What does he do?? He goes right over to the chickens that were attempting to lay eggs and chased them all around pulling out tail feathers left and right.

It was a great day. But now I'm ready for the snow to leave!

Here is Eric pushing me and Reed down the hill

and Here is Eric going down the hill himself...backwards

I have no clue what Tessa is doing here...she's either trying to hitch a ride down the hill or save my son.

Soy Milk and Hearing Aids

Today I had gone way too long without my daily dose of coffee, so about 3ish the boys and I head to Starbucks so I could get my fix.

Being a Starbucks addict, you have your perfect drink recited in your head ready to be told to the closest barista. Soy Grande Raspberry Caramel Latte. I was ready. I did consider adding a "triple' in there...but figured the kids had enough energy for me also, so why add more to the mix??

I pull up order my drink, pay and make small talk with the old lady barista. We go on about our way. I take a sip and notice that is not soy and where the heck is my raspberry.

Kai: Mommy what's wrong
Me: The lady made my coffee wrong
Kai: What did she do wrong
Me: She left out my raspberry and gave me whole milk instead of soy
Kai: Who would want soiled milk anyway
Me: Not's fake milk so mommy's tummy won't get upset
Kai: Well that old lady needs a hearing aid.
Me: Laughing Hysterically

The least of my worries

So even though one day Kai MAY read this and hate me for telling this, I have to tell it! I never in a million years thought that I would have my son telling me this:

Saturday my husband took Kai to the Collins' house for some pre-game construction work on their house...and then eventually watch the game.  Well right at game time (UK Basketball...what other kind of game time would I be talking about??) Kai and Eric came rushing back in the door. Kai's face was all red and he was crying.

"Ava & Andrew were putting girl stuff on me!"

Yes, he came home crying because a little girl was attempting to dress him up (including makeup) like a girl. He says Andrew was involved but later we found out he was not.

Kai loves little Ava dearly so he just couldn't be mean and tell her NO, instead he just couldn't take it anymore and just started crying. He also doesn't like for you to invade his personal space...which she was doing while attempting to put on a pretty shade of pink makeup.

I know it doesn't SOUND that funny...but I just never imagined that THIS would be a problem while playing with friends...

He took a nap and soon forgot all about it and in fact played with Andrew & Ava later that night. Too funny!
